After a long battle,the adu1t industry have got xxx as a Top Level Domain.Reports according to Economic times have been that India will oppose .xxx domain for Porn sites.
But that does not mean they have been opposing the decision which people misquoted after reading the headlines.The article stated that the goverment plans to block the xxx domain and did not state that they are opposing ICANN's decision.This decision was made as according to the Indian Penal Code distribution of adult content is illegal in India.Violators can face an improsenment of 5 years.
Previously, the government did this by censoring Savitha Bhabhi,which was popular among Indian youths.But they could just not censor that as it was started on a different domain name.
Indian decision makes a negative impact on the decision as that would make easier to censor adu1t content and isolating adu1t content from the internet.The Free Speech Coalition (FSC), a pr0n trade group,is also not happy with the decision and feels that .xxx will harm the adu1t business as it attracts censorship and blocking.It believes the ICANN have made this for its business and not keeping the best interests of the pr0n industry in mind.
