Skype sold at $8.5 bn to Microsoft


Microsoft have announced they have bought Internets largest Voip service Skype for $8.5 billion,Microsoft's biggest ever deal beating internet gaints Facebook,Google and Cisco.Skype will now support all Microsoft products - Xbox, Kinect  and Windows phone and will provide Windows Live users to chat via Skype.It will also Skype users with Lync,Outlook and Xbox Live. 

Skype has 660 million registered users and chatting via Skype.Monthly there are over 100 million active users,23 million talking with each other during the peak hours.

Tony Bates, the Skype chief executive, will be the president of Microsoft Skype and report  to Microsoft chief executive, Steve Ballmer.
"Skype is a phenomenal service that is loved by millions of people around the world," said Ballmer. "Together we will create the future of real-time communications so people can easily stay connected to family, friends, clients and colleagues anywhere in the world.
