Sony sues PlayStation 3 hackers

Sony Computer Entertainment America is suing notorious hacker George Hotz and more than 100 others, which includes members of fail0verflow, who found and released security codes for the PlayStation 3.
"I am a firm believer in digital rights," Mr Hotz told the BBC.

"I would expect a company that prides itself on intellectual property to be well versed in the provisions of the law, so I am disappointed in Sony's current action.

"I have spoken with legal counsel and I feel comfortable that Sony's action against me doesn't have any basis."

The twenty-one-year-old, who rose to prominence for breaking the iPhone's security, is named in the lawsuit with more than 100 people involved with a hacking group known as fail0verflow.
The defendants were also issued with temporary restraining orders, orders of impoundment and orders of show cause. You can check the documents on Mr.George Hotz's website.

Sony is apparently working on a way to counteract the hack, but some believe that it will be impossible for the company to use an update to the firmware, as removing the illegitimate software  runs the risk of removing the legitimate ones also.
At the time of writing details of the PS3 Jailbreak and a video from Hotz were still available freely online.
