What is phishing?
Phishing is the method of stealing login info(usernames and passwords) by directing the slave to a fakelogin page, that logs the login info without the knowledge of the slave.
Such clone website is known as a phisher.
Tips to protect yourself against Phishing
• Make sure you dont use your login details elsewhere than the page you registered to,unless the site being trusted(such as all google services)
• Check the website address when you click a link.A Phishing page might be awaiting for your login details.If you are logging to your Facebook,make sure th address is www.facebook.com,whereas www.Faceb00k.com or anything else is a Facebook Phishing Page.
• Avoid clicking on Fake links.Check the links you are clicking on and see at which web address are they directing you to.For instance www.google.com directs you to Gadgetdaily instead of Google.Just point the mouse cursor on the link,the actual location of the link is displayed on the bottom left screen.
• Know that links to phishing pages are usually spread via email, and often represent impersonating trusted services and persons, such as making the email appear as it's sent from the website you've registered to, or a friend of yours whose account has been compromised.
